Investigators say drug indictment ties to gang activity

Jordan | The Moultrie Observer Jul 15, 2021 3 hrs ago MOULTRIE, Ga. — A man affiliated with a criminal street gang known as the “Killer Kracker Pride,” was indicted by the Colquitt County Grand Jury in three separate cases and accused by the District Attorney’s Office in another. Tyler James Weeks of Moultrie both individually and with co-conspirators faces multiple charges in the four separate cases. Each case has been brought forth in a joint effort by both the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office and the Moultrie Police Department, according to court documents.  Information was not readily available on all cases from the primary investigators, which includes Investigator George Newton of the MPD, Investigator Channing McDowell of the CCSO Drug Enforcement Team, Justin Searcy also of the CCSO DET and Investigator Kat Johnson of the Colquitt County Criminal Investigation Division. 

Man shot during Independence Day party

Antion Perez Lopez was shot in the left elbow while attending a July Fourth party on Overlook Drive, according to Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Austin Cannon.  A friend took Lopez to Colquitt Regional Medical Center, where a deputy met up with him in the emergency room, according to the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office incident report. Cannon said neither Lopez nor his friend could identify who shot him but they said the shots came from a white truck.

Driver in accident says passenger grabbed the wheel

By Jack R. Jordan | jack.jordan@gaflnews.com Jul 6, 2021 13 hrs ago MOULTRIE, Ga. — Two individuals were treated for injuries after a single vehicle accident struck a home on Funston Sale City Road. Driver Zeqarius Enrigue Davis and passenger Skylar Montana Loften were traveling east on Funston Sale City Road, when a verbal argument began between the two, according to the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office accident report.  The report said that Davis told the officer the argument escalated when Lofton “grabbed the wheel causing him to lose control.” The vehicle left the roadway on the left hand side before striking a ditch and coming to a final rest “after striking a residence.”
