It bags all 10 ULBs while making a clean sweep of all 30 wards in Tuni
The YSR Congress Party has registered a sweeping victory in 81% of wards among the 268 in the 10 urban local bodies (ULBs) in the municipal elections in East Godavari district.
The total wards secured by the YSRCP are 218, including 35 where there was no contest while the TDP got 34 seats. The Jana Sena Party claimed victory in eight wards.
No polls for Kakinada, Rajahamahendravaram corporations
The elections to the urban local bodies in East Godavari district are set to go down to the wire as the main opposition parties the Telugu Desam Party and the Jana Sena Party have fielded candidates in all eight municipalities and two nagar panchayats.
In Peddapuram municipality, which is a TDP bastion, the TDP has fielded candidates in all 29 wards, thus preventing the rulingYSR Congress Party from claiming unanimous victories from even a single seat.
In Mandapeta municipality, where 30 wards are going to the polls, Gollaprolu nagar panchayat (20 wards) and Yeleswaram nagar panchayats (20 wards), the TDP and JSP have fielded their candidates in all 70 wards, doing away with the possibility of a unanimous win in any of the wards in the three civic bodies.

The murder of Kampara Ramesh, a corporator of the ninth division in Kakinada Municipal Corporation, created sensation among political circles of the city. He was allegedly murderd by his friend, Gurajana Chinna. According to the reports, Chinna and his family members were absconding.
Chinna alias Satyanarayana ran the car over Ramesh thrice. The CCTV footage of the death of Kampara Ramesh has gone viral on social media. Now, the question is why the police are unable to nab Chinna when they have a perfect evidence.

Two persons, including a minor, were arrested on Monday in connection with the murder of a 47-year-old YSRCP Corporator, Kampara Ramesh, on the outskirts of Kakinada in the early hours of February 12.
Addressing mediapersons, Kakinada Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP) V. Bheema Rao on Monday said: “The prime accused, Gurajana Veera Venkata Satyanarayana (Chinna) and a 17-year-old boy, have been taken into custody for mauling the Ramesh to death.”
On February 12, the accused reportedly ran his car over Kampara Ramesh, 9th Ward Corporator of the Kakinada Municipal Corporation, following an argument over financial matters.
