STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Joe Biden will take the oath of office Wednesday, becoming the 46th president of the United States in a ceremony that will combine centuries-old tradition with a socially-distanced twist necessitated by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Though there will be A-list celebrities, former presidents, congressional leaders and armed troops, the ceremony will take place before a smaller crowd in Washington, D.C., which, like most major cities, has been locked down to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
