Women s History Month Should Celebrate New Women Lawmakers

Min March is Women’s History Month and a good time to reflect on whether we have moved beyond the idea, as Condoleezza Rice once said, that girls  can be leaders to the expectation they  should be leaders. If last fall’s election is any indication, we surely have. Women made tremendous history in the United States Congress in the 2020 election. Today, women make up over a quarter of all members of the 117 th Congress. This is the highest percentage in U.S. history and a significant increase in the numbers from a decade ago.    Many on the left erroneously assume that gender dictates a person’s political views and that women should think a certain way, a progressive way. These assumptions are sure to be challenged in this Congress. After all, two thirds of last fall’s newly-elected women are Republican.

Reps Maloney, Ocasio-Cortez Call on NYC Mayor to Consider Establishing COVID-19 Vaccine Sites at HANAC Facilities

» Mar 4, 2021 Press Release NEW YORK, NY – This week, Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney (NY-12) and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) encouraged New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio to consider adding COVID-19 vaccination sites to Hellenic-American Neighborhood Association (HANAC) senior facilities. HANAC is a citywide social service organization that, in addition to offering services and programs for more than 30,000 seniors in the city, owns and operates 650 senior affordable housing units in five separate residential buildings across Queens, NY. These residents are part of the high-risk demographic for severe outcomes should they contract COVID-19, with many homebound and without the technological literacy necessary to reserve a vaccination appointment online, making it both difficult to book an appointment and travel to off-site vaccine centers.

Jordan Candler: Friday Short Cuts — The Patriot Post

Insight: “The goal of the ‘liberals’ — as it emerges from the record of the past decades — was to smuggle the country into welfare statism by means of single, concrete, specific measures, enlarging the power of the government a step at a time. Never permitting their direction to be summed up into principles, never permitting their direction to be identified or the basic issue to be named. Thus, statism was to come, not by vote or by violence, but by slow rot—by a long process of evasion and epistemological corruption, leading to a fait accompli.” —Ayn Rand (1905-1982) Re: The Left: “These priorities may seem odd: Make decisions that cause widespread death? No problem. Tell a dirty joke? You’ve got to go! But they reflect a reality that the left will not articulate. First, if [Andrew] Cuomo is forced out because of his poor leadership during the pandemic, it humiliates the sycophants who have been worshipping at his altar for the past
