My immediate family lived in Northwest Georgia for many decades. My dad managed a large local factory, and I went to high school there. My wife and I still have many family members and in-laws who live there in various towns.
I like the people I know in the area. That’s why I never understood why Marjorie Taylor Greene won the 14th Congressional District GOP primary over her well-qualified, respected, traditional conservative opponent, Dr. John Cowan.

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) called on House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy to strip Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene of her committee assignments.
Greene, who represents Georgia s 14th congressional district, has become the subject of huge criticism this week following a series of media reports showing her previous support for conspiracy theories.
HRC is the largest LGBTQ advocacy group and political lobbying organization in the U.S. The group issued a statement on Friday saying Greene had supported sedition and domestic terrorism.

Marjorie Taylor Greene has reportedly deleted posts from her social media platforms after the content she shared was repeatedly called into question.
According to
CNN, Rep. Green removed several posts made on her Facebook page from 2018 through 2019, before she held her elected position. In the uploads, the Republican politician allegedly promoted conspiracy theories and called for violence against her Democratic peers. According to the report, links saved by CNN’s KFile logged posts and comments from Greene’s Facebook page which are no longer available.
