Initial vaccination hesitancy, if any, has now almost gone and as we all know that due to the arrival of the second wave, the ferocious variety of the COVID-19 mutant virus across many parts of the country, the general public genuinely and eagerly want to be inoculated, especially the eligible ones under the largest group that of between 18 to 45 years. Why should, therefore, there be no mass vaccination or each and every citizen vaccinated in the country is gaining more credence. In this connection, a group of opposition leaders including Congress President Sonia Gandhi, JDS leader and former PM- Deve Gowda, NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena leader Udhav Thakery and TMC Supremo Mamta Banerjee have asked the Centre to launch a ”free mass vaccination drive” across the country. With India facing a Covid surge, Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Saturday urged the Centre to evolve a national policy to deal with the pandemic after bringing about a political consensus on it. In a video message, she said it is time for the central and state governments to wake up and fulfil their duties. Gandhi said Covid-19 jabs should be provided for free to all citizens and souÂght compulsory licensing to ramp up vaccine production to speed up the countryâs inoculation drive to help save Indians.

Mumbai, April 29 : As the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government grapples with financial constraints to handle the free vaccination drive for all citizens between in the 18-44 age group, the Maharashtra Congress on Thursday announced donations to the Chief Minister s Relief Fund (CMRF).
Revenue Minister and Congress Legislature Party leader Balasaheb Thorat has offered his one year s salary as a public representative while the 54 party legislators in the upper and lower houses would donate their one month s salaries to the CMRF.

Jaipur, April 27 : Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urged him to acquire tankers from all over India as he has been acquiring oxygen plants and allot them to states.
Without tankers, oxygen cannot be sent to states, Gehlot stressed. You should allot tankers too the way you are allowing oxygen. This will help redress the grievances of states, no matter if it is Delhi or Rajasthan or any other state, he told Modi.
