New Delhi, April 9 : The Congress on Friday questioned the Narendra Modi-led government over the explosive revelations made by a French news portal in the Rafale deal alleging that there was massive corruption and loss to public exchequer of at least Rs 21,075 crore.
The remarks came after a French news portal mediapart.fr in a three series investigation claimed that it was in possession of documents that showed Dassault Aviation, which manufactures the Rafale jet, and its industrial partner Thales, a defence electronics firm, paid a middleman several million euros in secret commissions in connection with the Rs 59,000 crore deal for 36 jets for the Indian Air Force (IAF).

West Bengal may have commanded most of the attention and headlines with its eight-phase elections that come with national implications. But Kerala, which votes in just one phase on April 6, is set for assembly polls that could be momentous in its own way, without fitting into a simple Bharatiya Janata Party vs everyone else pan-India narrative.
The southern state has seen power alternate between two fronts every five years for the last four decades. Almost like clockwork, and seemingly irrespective of how successful each government was, voters threw out the incumbents and brought in the Opposition in every electoral cycle since 1983.
As the polling for the third phase in West Bengal and Assam and single phase poll in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are underway, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi and his sister and party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra urged the people to exercise their franchise.
Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter and wrote, Do cast your votes today - India is counting on you. His sister Priyanka Gandhi, who is in home isolation after her husband Robert Vadra tested positive for Covid-19, took to Twitter and wrote, As polling begins in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, I request my sisters and brothers to go out and vote in large numbers and ensure a strong, progressive and prosperous future for themselves.
