HAMBURG, N.Y. A Hamburg restaurant owner says he is having big problems finding employees and the only people applying are teenagers with no experience.
Jimmy Butera is blaming a lot of factors, including the unemployment benefits people are collecting. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Butera, a restaurant owner, says when he d post a job, he d get 10 applicants and three or four would show up for interviews, then only one would show up for work.
Now, Butera says the only people applying are teenagers with no experience.

WNY venues, theaters receive over $23M in federal relief aid

BUFFALO, N.Y. After a pandemic that kept them shut down for over a year, venues and theaters across Western New York have received federal aid.
According to data obtained from the SBA website, 28 venues and theaters received $23,934,736 from the Shuttered Venues Operators Grant.
The big winner in Western New York was Shea s Performing Arts Center, which received $10 million from the federal grant program. According to information from the SBA, $10 million was the maximum grant a venue could receive.

TOWN OF EVANS, N.Y. (WKBW) â Along the shores of Lake Erie, dozens of concerned community members stood shoulder to shoulder holding signs reading âSave Sturgeon Point Marina.â
âAll these people who are here today own this marina, and they own the lake too,â said former Town of Evans Supervisor Bob Catalino. Cartalino was the Evans Town Supervisor in the 1970s and 1980s. He was on the board who helped purchase the marina for the Town of Evans.
âIt has never been shut down before,â he said.
