Van Drew has been one of President Trump’s closest allies in Congress since leaving the Democrat Party in December 2019.
The congressional certification process is the final pre-inaugural step to confirm November’s election results. Van Drew is unlikely to be alone; also on Wednesday, U.S. Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) also said he plans to object to the results.
“I cannot vote to certify the electoral college results on January 6 without raising the fact that some states, particularly Pennsylvania, failed to follow their own state election laws,” Hawley declared in a statement released Wednesday morning.

“President Trump is right to be skeptical about this bill,” Van Drew wrote on social media on Tuesday evening, alluding the fact that the stimulus includes $325 billion for businesses (part of which is intended to boost the Paycheck Protection Program). “I was skeptical once the stimulus bill was combined with the government funding bill. For me, the choice was between getting the help to our people and businesses or not. I choose to get people the help provided. It was impossible to separate out government funding from the stimulus bill when voting and Americans need help now.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provided guidance for distributing the coronavirus vaccine, and it appeared to take race into consideration.
The Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP), a CDC committee that provides recommendations for the implementation of vaccine programs, divided the population into groups and then offered suggestions as to which groups would be prioritized as the vaccines were made available.
The three main groups were adults over the age of 65, adults with high risk medical conditions and essential workers outside of the health care fields. Health care workers would be among the first to receive the vaccine because they were the most likely to be exposed to the virus on a regular basis.
RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel commemorated the occasion with a video.
