Members of Minnesota s Congressional delegation condemned violence at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday afternoon.  Supporters of President Donald Trump broke into the Capitol on Wednesday, disrupting the proceedings underway that would finalize Joe Biden s victory over Trump.  Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, a Democrat serving Minneapolis, tweeted that she s drawing up Articles of Impeachment.  Donald J. Trump should be impeached by the House of Representatives and removed from office by the United States Senate. We can t allow him to remain in office, it s a matter of preserving our Republic and we need to fulfill our oath, Omar wrote.  Democrats have called out Trump and other Republicans for provoking the riots at the Capitol. Trump continued to maintain, without evidence, that there was fraud in the election, in statements Wednesday afternoon.

Capitol Police says reports officer killed in riots not accurate

United States Capitol Police have confirmed that one of their officers has died as a result of injuries sustained during riots at the Capitol. USCP Officer Brian D. Sicknick was injured while physically engaging with protesters. He returned to his division office and then collapsed. He was taken to a local hospital and put on life support but has since passed away. Officer Sicknick joined the USCP in July 2008, and most recently served in the Department s First Responder s Unit, the unit said in a statement.

He returned to his office where he collapsed after suffering a stroke, according to reports. He was rushed to the hospital, but later died from his injuries.
