Trump should be impeached by the House of Representatives and removed from office by the United States Senate. We can t allow him to remain in office, it s a matter of preserving our Republic and we need to fulfill our oath, Omar wrote.
Democrats have called out Trump and other Republicans for provoking the riots at the Capitol. Trump continued to maintain, without evidence, that there was fraud in the election, in statements Wednesday afternoon.
United States Capitol Police have confirmed that one of their officers has died as a result of injuries sustained during riots at the Capitol.
USCP Officer Brian D. Sicknick was injured while physically engaging with protesters. He returned to his division office and then collapsed.
He was taken to a local hospital and put on life support but has since passed away.

In a statement, the US Capitol Police said Officer Sicknick s death will be treated as a homicide investigation. Officer Sicknick joined the USCP in July 2008, and most recently served in the Department s First Responder s Unit, the unit said in a statement.
