Congressman Adam Schiff warns of U S cybersecurity vulnerabilities

(Photo: Wikimedia Commons) on January 27, 2021 Americans ought to be wary of cybersecurity threats and the national security challenges associated with the constantly-evolving media landscape, according to Congressman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) ’82.  At a Wednesday evening webinar hosted by Stanford in Government, Schiff described the current cybersecurity landscape as a “wild west” where aggressors can inflict great harm while facing minimal consequences. Schiff pointed to the North Korean Sony Pictures hack, China’s theft of records from the Office of Personnel Management and, most recently, the Russian attack on SolarWinds.  “We invest billions in the infrastructure of cyber-defense, but technology has changed so quickly,” he said. “Is it even possible to defend and to keep pace with the innovation that changes at a rate of every 18 months or quicker? While a member of the House, she served on several committees, including the Committee on Armed Services and the Committee on Homeland Security. In a recent video post, Gabbard called out Congressman Adam Schiff (D-California) and former CIA Director John Brennan, labeling them domestic enemies of the U.S. who are even more dangerous than the protestors who stormed the U.S. Capitol on January 6.

(..) And just on the timing, Leader McConnell said he will push for a February timeline. I know that you don t want to comment specifically on the timeline of this, but how would a February trial impact the effort to get COVID relief passed? (..) Is that fast enough for him? Is mid-February fast enough?

Big Tech Censorship Is One Thing; Glenn Greenwald Says the Coming Real War Will Be Even Worse if We Don t Defeat It

AP Photo/Rick Bowmer “No speculation is needed. Those who wield power are demanding it. The only question is how much opposition they will encounter.” So reads the subhead of veteran journalist Glenn Greenwald’s latest article, titled In the two-and-a-half months since the presidential election, events have seemingly moved at warp speed. Supporters of then-President Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol in protest of the election results, the Left has moved in blatant fashion to crack down on the rights of conservatives, including Twitter’s permanent suspension of Donald Trump’s account and more than 70 others, and Amazon has de-platformed the right-leaning website, Parler.
