Garcia Announces Bipartisan Leadership Of Military Spouse Relief Act
On Tuesday, Congressman Mike Garcia, R- Santa Clarita, announced that he and Congressman Salud Carbajal, D- Santa Barbara, will be co-leading the Military Spouse Licensing Relief Act also known as House Resolution 2650.
The Military Spouse Licensing Relief Act, a bill being discussed in Congress that is designed to aid military families, is now set to have the bipartisan leadership of Mike Garcia, a Republican, and Salud Carbajal, a Democrat.
“I am proud to join Congressman Carbajal in this bipartisan effort to support our military families and remove this burdensome obstacle that many military families face,” Garcia said. “Our men and women in uniform and their families sacrifice greatly for this nation and deserve all of the support they can get. Our legislation will help military spouses maintain employment and have smoother transitions when moving on military orders.”

Santa Clarita Congressman Mike Garcia Hosts Blood Drive For Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital
With blood banks seeing a drop off in blood storage due to the coronavirus pandemic, Santa Clarita Congressman Mike Garcia, R-Santa Clarita, and his campaign hosted a blood drive on Saturday to support the Houchin Community Blood Bank in Santa Clarita.
In partnership with the Garcia campaign’s Saturday of Service, Garcia hosted a blood drive drive at the Garcia Headquarters in Santa Clarita on Saturday.
Garcia’s presence at the blood drive stems from a program called “Saturday of Service,” where Garcia and his team of roughly 400 volunteers do something different each month to give back to the community, officials with the Garcia campaign said.

On Thursday, Garcia reflected on his work so far as congressman and what he hopes to accomplish in the coming year.
“My promise from day one has been simple,” Garcia said. “I will not let the disastrous Sacramento policies that have forced many Californians to seriously consider and/or leave the state be spread across the nation.”
The representative listed passing the State and Local Tax (SALT) Fairness act and putting an end to illegal marijuana grows as legislative priorities.

Congressman Mike Garcia, R-Santa Clarita, spoke with KHTS on air about several topics including illegal marijuana growers around the Santa Clarita Valley, the Congressional Art Competition, and stimulus checks.
Congressman Garcia discussed several important topics on air with KHTS, beginning with his recent surveillance of illegal marijuana grows in the Antelope Valley alongside the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD).
“These aren’t the legal state-sanctioned operations, these aren’t even small illegal operations in folks’ backyards,” said the Congressman. “These are massive nurseries that are being put up in the middle of the Antelope Valley Desert, Acton and Aqua Dulce, and on a scale you wouldn’t believe.”
