The Biden Administration, Governor JB Pritzker, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, Chicago Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot and Senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth today announced eligible Illinoisans from every part of the state will be able to be vaccinated starting March 10 at a new United Center site that prioritizes access for seniors and equity for the hardest hit populations.
The Biden Administration is opening pilot Community Vaccination Centers across the country. The United Center site will open on March 10 with the capacity to administer 6,000 doses per day, all of which will be provided directly by the federal government and not taken out of the state or city’s allotment.

Kamala Harris may be the most high-profile person of Indian-origin in the United States of America at the moment, but she is hardly the only one. US President Joe Biden’s administration has a total of 20 Indian-Americans, 17 of whom are in key White House roles. And across town in Washington DC, a quartet of members of the US House of Representatives of Indian-origin have all been re-elected.
They are called the ‘samosa caucus’. The term was coined by Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, referrng to himself as well as three others – Ami Bera, Pramila Jayapal and Ro Khanna. All four are Democrats, and they once counted Harris, who was a Senator, among their ranks.

Chicagoans woke up Tuesday morning to what was supposed to be the biggest snowstorm the region has seen in two years with up to 8 inches of snow predicted in many areas.
There was about half that as dawn broke Tuesday at O’Hare International Airport. But by the afternoon, 5.8 inches of snow had been recorded at the airport. That makes it the largest snowfall in Chicago since April 14, 2019, when 5.4 inches fell, according to the National Weather Service.
Even though snowfall tallies didn’t reach 8 inches, residents still had plenty to say about it on Twitter.
