Rogers: Biden plan a socialist agenda writ large

File photo i cj Congressman Hal Rogers had strong words Thursday for President Joe Biden s joint address to Congress Wednesday night. In his address Wednesday night to a joint session of Congress, President Joe Biden embraced government as the solution to many of the nation s problems. Biden is proposing a whopping $4 trillion in new government spending to bolster infrastructure and revamp social programs for many Americans who continue to struggle during the COVID-19 pandemic. For hometown Congressman Hal Rogers (KY-5), who began his legislative career the same year that President Ronald Reagan ushered in the era of trickle-down economics, the plan spells disaster for the country.

Rogers signs petition to force vote on born alive bill

Congressman Hal Rogers Tom Williams Somerset s Congressman Hal Rogers has added his name to a discharge petition that would force House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to call a vote on the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. The legislation mandates that any infant born alive after an abortion receives the same standard of care as any newborn baby. The conservative-led bill, which has been blocked from the House Floor, also protects the mother from prosecution.

Rogers, Kelley applaud emergency aid for ice storms

Apr 2, 2021 Somerset s Congressman Hal Rogers and Pulaski County Judge-Executive Steve Kelley both expressed appreciation for President Joe Biden s disaster declaration for the February ice storms that crippled much of Rogers 5th Congressional District early last month. Our small county governments have been working on overdrive since early February to remove debris and repair roads, water and sewer lines, and other facilities that were damaged during the ice storms, Rogers said on Thursday. This declaration provides emergency federal funding through FEMA to help pay for repairs and reimburse those unexpected costs that have been draining local county budgets. The declaration comes less than two weeks after Kentucky s congressional delegation urged President Biden to activate federal aid for the Commonwealth, a request issued by Governor Andy Beshear.
