A Democratic congressman from Texas says President Joe Biden s plan to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour isn t a good idea. Biden intends to include the hike in a massive pandemic relief bill, more than doubling the current rate of seven-dollars and 25-cents. Congressman Henry Cuellar says businesses that have been hit hard by the pandemic can t afford this mandatory pay hike. Cuellar says the first increase in the federal minimum wage since 2009 should be phased in gradually, with aid to businesses.
