The Kodiak Emergency Operations Center reported six new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend: four on Friday and two on Saturday.Â
The new cases bring the boroughâs active case count to 19, with no one hospitalized right now.Â
Five were tested on Jan. 28. One was tested on Jan. 27.
Of the six new cases, five were close contacts of previous cases. One was considered community transmission.Â
On Friday, the Kodiak Island Borough School District announced that someone at Main Elementary had tested positive for the virus.Â
In Kodiak, KANA, Kodiak Community Health Center, Kodiak Ambulatory Care Clinic and Safeway are offering vaccines. Appointments can be found at covidvax.alaska.gov.
