After returning to his native Canada in early 2020 to renew his French visa he moved to Paris two years ago to establish his company there Kruszewski found himself stranded at home with no colleagues, no sewing machine, and no fabric for the majority of the year. What he did have was a wealth of patterns from past collections stored in his parents’ basement. For spring 2021, he tweaked them slightly but not dramatically and shipped them to a colleague in Paris, who fitted samples on a friend and sent the final designs to the factory in Italy.
