Expertise Events confirms buying group presence at Trade Days, Sydney fair Posted February 15, 2021 | By Arabella Roden • Editor Expertise Events, organiser of the upcoming state-based jewellery industry Trade Days, has confirmed which buying groups will be present at the events, as well as the International Jewellery & Watch Fair (IJWF) in Sydney later this year. The five Trade Days events are scheduled to take place in March and April, at venues on the Gold Coast and in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth. Nationwide Jewellers, Australia’s largest buying group, will have an official presence at all the Trade Days, while Independent Jewellers Collective – the nation’s newest buying group, founded in 2020 – will be at the Gold Coast and Sydney dates, with a view to potentially participating in the other events.

As first reported by Jeweller in December 2015, the trouble started when Pandora Australia and New Zealand president Brien Winther advised the brand’s retail stockists against simultaneously stocking US jewellery range Alex and Ani. The newcomer, Alex and Ani, was introduced to the Australian and New Zealand market about one week prior by House of Brands, which is owned by former Pandora Australia and New Zealand president Karin Adcock.
