Two Big New Features Confirmed For Resident Evil Village
Spotted by Where’s Barry over on Twitter, recent footage released for the survival horror sequel confirms that a photo mode will be available, allowing players to take pictures during cutscenes and general gameplay. We fully expect the internet to be overrun by images of Lady Dimitrescu within minutes of launch next month, many of which will almost certainly be NSFW in nature. That is, of course, assuming Capcom has no restrictions in place to combat misuse, but such attempts are largely futile, as modders will always find a way.

As spotted by the folks over at MP1st, four new region-specific SKUs (one each, for Europe, Asia, Japan and North America) have recently been uploaded by Sony to the PlayStation Network back end, all of which make specific reference to a gameplay demo for the upcoming sequel. It’s worth noting, of course, that these additions have yet to go live on the service and remain unavailable to the public, but it’s a surefire sign, nonetheless, that Capcom is finally ready to give fans their first hands-on experience with Ethan Winters’ nightmare.
Resident Evil RE: Verse Open Beta Suspended Due To Matchmaking Issues
RE: Verse has hit a nasty snag.
Officially brought online earlier today, the playable preview, which is intended to run in multiple 24-hour periods over the next few days or so, has been taken offline after a mere few hours due to issues Capcom has attributed to the mode’s matchmaking systems. In a brief post updating fans of the situation over on Twitter, the developer details that instead of attempting to resolve the problem in a live environment where users are still experiencing difficulty getting into a game, it’s decided to temporarily suspend the beta entirely until a fix can be implemented. “We will continue to investigate,” the statement continues, adding, “and we apologize for any inconvenience caused.”
