Love s plans to add over 30 stores in 2021 with Truck Care/Speedco services

OKLAHOMA CITY Love s Travel Stops & Country Stores plans to open as many as 50 travel stops in 2021, including more than 30 with Love s Truck Care or Speedco preventive maintenance and tire services on site.
The expansion plan builds on a challenging 2020, when the Oklahoma City-based company opened 38 truck-servicing plazas with over 3,000 parking spaces and donated several million dollars to fight COVID-19, injustice and poverty and to help sick and injured children. 2020 was difficult, but our teams worked together to open new locations, add parking spaces and serve customers despite the pandemic, Love s President Shane Wharton said.
Gary Price to head Love s Truck Care operations

OKLAHOMA CITY Love s Travel Stops & Country Stores has promoted Gary Price to executive vice president of its Truck Care operations, succeeding the retiring Tom Edwards.
Mr. Price, most recently vice president of operations, North America, will now manage what Love s calls the largest preventive maintenance and total truck care network in the country with 400-plus locations and 1,500 maintenance bays.
His responsibilities will include Love s Tire Retread and Distribution Center network, which has six locations across the country and plans to expand in 2021.
Prior to joining Love s in 2016, Mr. Price was president of Corner Bakery for three years and held executive positions with Pilot Flying J for 10-plus years.
USA: Love’s closes out the year opening its largest travel stop
New location in Bliss, Idaho, becomes Love’s largest with a 21,000 square feet footprint. The company added two more travel stops in Illinois, and one in Ohio.

Love’s Travel Stops, the leading travel stop network for professional truck drivers and motorists in the United States, is closing out the year by opening four new locations, including the company’s largest travel stop to date. With a 21,000 square feet footprint, Love’s biggest store ever is now serving customers in Bliss, Idaho.
Madison Village Planning Commission has approved the final site plan for a Love s Travel Stop that will be constructed at the southeast corner of Interstate 90 and Route 528.
Commission members voted unanimously in favor of the plan during a meeting held remotely by video conference on Dec. 21.
Before issuing a decision, the commission heard concerns about the Love s project expressed by several area residents. They said they were worried that it would create heavier traffic congestion in the vicinity and attract certain types of criminal activities, to name a few examples.

The panel s action provided administrative approval of the project for purposes such as zoning, development of a stormwater management plan, and architectural review, said village Administrator Dwayne Bailey.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County received a $1 million donation this week from Love s Travel Stops & Country Stores, part of a $1.5 million gift the Oklahoma City-based company made to the United Way of Central Oklahoma s COVID-19 Relief Fund.
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City received $500,000 as part of the donation. The support that the Boys & Girls Clubs, Catholic Charities and United Way have provided during the pandemic has been the lifeblood for so many in our community, said Jenny Love Meyer, executive vice president and chief culture officer for Love’s.
