Waite Park Police Makes History With First Female Sergeant
WAITE PARK The Waite Park Police Department made history when they hired their first female police sergeant.
Becca Grosz was promoted to sergeant after spending the last three years as an investigator. The St. Joseph native says even as a kid she knew she wanted to be a police officer.
She says while she was aware of the history made by her promotion, to her it s business as usual.
I have always said I want to be just as good as my partners. If I m not then I should not be getting hired or on the road with them. So I ve always tried to do my best and be their equal.

(KNSI) – A St. Cloud man is facing charges after a road rage incident in Waite Park Wednesday morning.
Waite Park Police say they responded to the 3rd Street North and 11th Avenue North intersection just before 7 a.m.
A Chevy Cavalier had been traveling south on 10th Avenue North when a Ford Taurus quickly came up behind it. The driver of the Cavalier attempted to change lines, but the Taurus tried to go around the Cavalier. When the Chevy tried to change lanes again, the Taurus struck it. The Taurus then pulled ahead of the Cavalier, and the vehicles collided again. Then, authorities say, the Taurus hit the Cavalier’s back bumper, making the Cavalier spin.
St. Cloud Man Accused in Waite Park Road Rage Crash, Assault
WAITE PARK A St. Cloud man faces possible charges of felony assault, reckless driving, and criminal damage to property after a road rage incident Wednesday morning.
Waite Park Police were called to the area of 3rd Street North and 10th Avenue North just before 7:00 a.m. for an assault in progress.
Officers met with a man who said he was southbound on 10th Avenue when a Ford Taurus was approaching from behind at a high rate of speed. The victim said he tried to switch lanes to allow the Taurus to pass at the same time the driver of the Taurus tried to pass in that lane, and the two cars made contact.
