The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, along with the Gonzales Police Department are currently investigating multiple burglaries that occurred early this morning at both Starbucks Coffee locations in Ascension Parish.
As the investigation continues, more information will be available later.

Louisiana Family Forum announced that Patsy and Gail Richardson of Gonzales have won the title of 2021 Louisiana’s Longest Married Couple for the Louisiana Family Forum Marriage Hall of Fame.
The Richardsons celebrated their 80th anniversary Sept. 1, 2020. Gail is 101 and Patsy is 99 years old.
According to LFF’s report on the couple, Patsy recalls that on their first date, Gail took her fishing. Their lines got tangled and they’ve been together ever since.
Gail is a World War II veteran, was in the medical corps, traveled overseas in the hospital unit, and later moved into the infantry. Their oldest child was just 6 months old when he left for the service.

Giana Acosta was selected as the fifth grade Student of the Year, and Audrey Lanoux was selected as the eighth grade Student of the Year at St. Theresa Middle School.
Acosta has maintained a 4.0 GPA, is part of the St. Theresa Middle cheer squad, a member of Junior Catholic Daughters of America No. 1955, and has participated in 4H. She is involved in many service and volunteer projects in the school and community such as recycling, baking cookies for the local fire department, and donating to the less fortunate.
Through Wiggles & Wags, she has had an opportunity to contribute her own money and blankets for the animals. She has been honored on her school s principal s list, as well as received the highest Scholastic Awards each semester at St. Theresa Middle. Acosta was selected for an interview to compete at the Diocesan level. Chris Guidry was the only candidate to qualify as the Town of Sorrento’s next mayor, replacing two-term Mayor Mike Lambert.
Six candidates qualified for the March 20 election to select five town council members.
The three incumbents seeking reelection are: Randy Anny, Wanda Bourgeois, and Patti Poche. The three challengers are: Chad Domingue, Darnell Gilbert Sr., and Duane Humphrey.
“I can’t wait to get to work for our town. Thank you everyone for your support!” Guidry wrote in a social media post over the weekend.
Guidry previously served as a member of the town council.
