GBA suspends Harrison for five years

The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has suspended the licence of Richard Nii Lartey Harrison, former World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa Heavyweight Champion.
A letter signed by Mr Peter Zwenes, President of the GBA said the licence has been suspended for five years, hence the boxer would not be able to fight in and outside Ghana.
According to the letter, the decision of the GBA was due to forgery of release letter with the signature of the General Secretary Mr Patrick Johnson to enable him to fight Fabio Wardley in the United Kingdom (UK) last year.
2 Bronx gym boxers sign management deals

Two young and upcoming boxers from the Bronx gym at Akoto Lante, a suburb of Accra in Accra, have been signed deals to fight on the management of Yungice Management and Promotions.
The duo, Emmanuel Quartey and Felix Nelson, have joined at an important moment in their respective careers as they vow to lay claim to national titles.
The impressive signing ceremony was witnessed by fans of the boxers including Mr. Abraham Neequaye; Second Vice President of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA).
The GBA member advised the boxers and managers to respect contracts to move the business of the sport forward.

ACE Power Boxing Promotions will on December 24 stage a fight night dubbed “Knockout COVID-19” as part of efforts to ‘resurrect’ boxing in the country since the COVID-19 outbreak.
Scheduled for the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra, the event according to organisers, will also provide a platform for budding boxing talents to display their talents.
Organisers, Ace Power Promotions earlier scheduled a boxing extravaganza on November 29 but was called off due to the Ghana Boxing Authority’s inability to test boxers ahead of the event.
