Unlicensed engineering practitioners to be sanctioned

Picture: EBOW HANSON 30.5k Shares 705 Practitioners and firms who provide engineering services without the requisite licences will be sanctioned, effective November 1, 2021. In accordance with the Engineering Council Act 2011 (Act 819), all engineering professionals and firms offering engineering related services are to register and obtain licences from the Engineering Council Ghana before they can operate legally in the country. This was announced at a press conference by the Ministry of Works and Housing in Accra yesterday.

Engineering leaders call on President Akufo-Addo

705 The first female Ghanaian President of the Federation of African Engineering Organisation (FAEO), Mrs. Carlien Bou-Chedid, and the President of the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE), Mr. Alexander Leslie Ayeh, have paid a courtesy call on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House. The two were accompanied by the Chairman of the Engineering Council of Ghana, Mr. Abbey-Sam. The purpose of the visit was to introduce Mrs. Carlien Bou-Chedid, the newly inaugurated fifth President of FAEO, to President Akufo-Addo. The team also took the opportunity to introduce Mr Leslie Ayeh as the President-Elect for the West African Federation of Engineering Organisation (WAFEO) to the President.
