Protests at Bangarmau after vegetable vendor’s death on Friday KANPUR: An 18-year-old vegetable vendor died after he was caught over charges of defying Covid-19 lockdown norms, and mercilessly beaten up by a police constable and a home guard in Bangarmau Kotwali police station in Unnao district on Friday. The family members of Faisal, son of Mohd Islam of Bhatpuri locality of Bangarmau, alleged that he was severely beaten up by two policemen Vijay Chaudhary (constable) and Satya Prakash (home guard) on Friday afternoon following which he succumbed to injuries. Later, they staged a massive protest on Bangarmau-Lucknow road with the body demanding strict action against the guilty policemen besides suitable compensation to the victim’s family members.

The doctors, who are in charge of CHCs & PHCs , had submitted their resignation to the chief medical officer of the district on Wednesday. KANPUR: A day after quitting their posts citing harassment at the hands of administrative officials, 16 government doctors, posted as in-charges in rural hospitals of Unnao district, relented on Thursday after the intervention of the district administration and took back their resignations. The doctors, who are in charge of CHCs & PHCs , had submitted their resignation to the chief medical officer of the district on Wednesday. In the resignation letter, the doctors stated that despite working hard in the field to prevent the spread of the pandemic, they are facing action and ill behaviour without any cause.
