The warning comes as pubs, bars and restaurants begin to reopen and as hopes grow that crowds will be able to gather at sports venues and other events in the near future.

Chief Constable Serena Kennedy MERSEYSIDE Police s new Chief Constable has begun work today (Monday, April 12). Serena Kennedy has taken up her new role as Chief Constable of Merseyside Police, succeeding Andy Cooke in the role. Chief Constable Kennedy has nearly 28 years of policing experience behind her and joined Merseyside Police as an Assistant Chief Constable in 2017 and was promoted to Deputy Chief Constable in October 2018. Chief Constable Serena Kennedy joined Greater Manchester Police (GMP) as a Constable in 1993 after being awarded a degree in Forensics at Hull University. At GMP she worked in local policing and partnerships up to the rank of Inspector. In 2008 she was promoted to Detective Chief Inspector within the Major Incident Team. In 2010 Serena was promoted to Superintendent in charge of partnerships and local policing in Moss Side and Longsight.
