Seidl hails impact of ‘very strong’ McLaren line-up

Andreas Seidl has spoken of the importance of having a strong driver line-up to help McLaren add to the progress they have made in recent years.
The McLaren team principal has praised his current pairing as they look to add to their success this season, saying the arrival of Daniel Ricciardo to replace Carlos Sainz means the team are able to keep up their assault as they look to challenge the front of the field.
After qualifying P6 and P7, the opening race in Bahrain was a strong showing from McLaren. Lando Norris brought home a P4 finish and Ricciardo managed P7 despite damaging his car on the first lap, so the signs are positive for the MCL35M’s performance this season – despite Norris claiming McLaren only had the fifth fastest car in Bahrain.

In the fourth part of our teammate battle series we move to the garage that includes everyone’s favourite twitch streamer-cum-driver and the Honey Badger himself; it’s Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo at McLaren.
Ricciardo has replaced the Ferrari-bound Carlos Sainz at the team that finished third in the Constructors’ Championship last year, with the Aussie leaving Renault, now known as Alpine, to join the project led by Zak Brown and Andreas Seidl.
The sharp upturn in fortunes for the team based in Woking has been a welcome one amongst most F1 fans, and the aim of a return to the top seems well under way; with Norris and Ricciardo as a driver pairing, they could achieve great things.
KX will provide real-time information, machine learning, data visualisation and other tools in one platform.
It said its platform would significantly enhance the analytical capabilities of Williams Racing, the main garage of which will now carry KX branding.
KX has also been used by Aston Martin Red Bull.

Marko: Rules changed to slow us countless times

Helmut Marko has no sympathy for Mercedes’ cries that the rules have been changed to slow them down, saying Red Bull suffered the same fate during their reign.
Red Bull dominated Formula 1 from 2010 to 2013 with the team taking the Constructors’ Championship four years in a row while Sebastian Vettel won the Drivers’ titles.
Part of Red Bull’s success, at least in 2010 and 2011, was the exhaust-blown diffuser, prompting the FIA to change the rules regarding the location of the exhaust.
The teams, including Red Bull, found a way around this leading to an in-season ban to not only prevent off throttle blowing, but also rule out the floor mounted blown diffuser solutions.
