PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia woman is seeking damages from the United States after she allegedly slipped and fell at the NEX Navy Exchange retail store on Robbins St. in Philadelphia.
According to court documents filed on Feb. 16 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Cassandra E. Lyles was walking on the sidewalk at the store in August 2018 when she fell due to a dangerous, defective or broken curb or part of the sidewalk.
The suit says the unsafe condition of the sidewalk was not marked or indicated in any way. The plaintiff allegedly suffered a fractured kneecap that required surgical operation, a right elbow contusion and other injuries.
