Witnesses have reported traffic has finally cleared up on the Bruce Highway just south of Maryborough after a truck reportedly drove into a ditch sometime after lunch. A photo posted to social media shows the trailer of a truck jackknifed across the road and the front down an embankment. The incident is believed to have occurred just over the hill from the Puma fuel station on the Bruce Highway between Maryborough and Tiaro. Five people have been assessed by paramedics following a two-vehicle crash that blocked the Bruce Highway at Hampden.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the five people were able to climb out of the vehicles involved in the crash at the intersection of Marian-Hampden Rd at 9.34am.
He said all five patients were in a stable condition and had not suffered serious injuries.
The QAS spokesman said a man was taken to Mackay Base Hospital with an ankle injury.
Another two people were being treated for neck and pelvic injuries and were expected to be taken to hospital.

UPDATE 3.22pm: The sole occupant of the car involved in the collision with a truck at Colosseum is being transported to Gladstone Hospital in a stable condition. A QAS spokesman reported the man suffered spinal injuries during the incident and needed to be cut free from the vehicle by QFES officers as a result.
UPDATE 2.51pm: One person is reportedly trapped following a two-vehicle collision involving a car and truck this afternoon in the locality of Colosseum. A QAS spokeswoman said paramedic officers, who arrived on scene around 2.48pm, were treating the man in his 40s for shoulder and back injuries.

Subscriber only Update 2.30pm: Four people have been taken to hospital with minor injuries after a two vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway. It is understood both cars had been in the overtaking lane when the crash occurred at Balberra about 1.35pm Sunday. At this stage both lanes of traffic remain open however one or both may need to close when the vehicles are recovered. Police and paramedics were called to the scene. Four people have been taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition. Investigations continue. Police and paramedics responded to a two-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway at Balberra.

A driver has abandoned their car after driving over a flooded section of the Bruce Highway and skidding off the road.
Emergency services were called to a single vehicle crash at Ilbilbie, 4km south of the United Service station.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said a crew arrived at the scene at 10.28am to find the car empty and left in floodwaters.
