Ronald Ron H Cardoza, 82

Jan 11, 2021 Ronald “Ron” H. Cardoza, passed from this life into eternal life at age 82 on January 3, 2021, at his Sun City Center, FL, home with his loving family around him.  He was born in Boston on July 31, 1938 and was the son of Henry Cardoza and Eva (Roderick) Cardoza. He entered the military after graduation and served with the 101st Airborne Division. He later went to college in California receiving his AA in Business. In 1980, Ron returned to Massachusetts to pursue his interest in law enforcement. He used his GI benefit to receive his BS degree in Criminal Justice at UMass-Boston. Cardoza served as a patrolman for the Wareham Police Department before resigning in 1967. He also attended the Massachusetts State Police Academy and eventually accepted a position as a U.S. Law Enforcement Agent and secured a position with the U.S. Department of Labor (OSHA) as a Compliance Officer/Special Investigator in the Boston region as well as the states of Georgia and Fl

Joanne was an educator and activist for justice, equality, women’s rights and freedom of religion. She was a founder of the Bay County Unitarian Universalist Fellowship; past president of Bay County and Brevard County Florida, National Organization for Women’s Chapters. She was an early advocate in the fight against AIDS/HIV and LGBTQIA+ rights. In addition, her day job for many years was Director of the local American Heart Association chapters, bringing the “Art for Heart” programs to both Bay and Brevard Counties.

Dale A. Rood, Jr., 47, of New Columbia, passed away Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020 at home. Born Jan. 10, 1973 in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Dale A. Rood, Sr. and Debra M. (Rupert) Rood. He was a 1991 graduate of Muncy High School and served six years in the US Navy on the USS Santa Barbara. He was employed at the Coal Township State Correctional Facility for more than 20 years. He was a member of Union County Sportsman’s Club and the NRA. Dale was also a member of the Norry Gun Club and the Lewisburg American Legion Post 182. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, campfires, and fireworks. He was an avid NASCAR fan, gun collector, and Mopar enthusiast. Also he greatly enjoyed lighthouses and nautical themes.
