Rolando Bentancourt, bounty hunter, remains fixated on Pyle’s capture, and as soon as the pandemic subsides he will travel, likely to Nicaragua, because that’s where he believes Pyle is living and darned if the accused pedophile is slipping through his fingers again.
“I want to get this guy,” Bentancourt said. “It needs to be done.”
Anyone remember Pyle? He’s the Sarasota resident with the prospector’s mustache who ran across the United States – yes, ran, 3,273 miles, from California to Key West – while carrying the American Flag as a way to raise money for the Wounded Warriors Project in 2012.

Ted P. Swope, 82, left this world Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, surrounded by family at home in Lewes after battling cancer. He cracked jokes and rolled his eyes at our bad ones until the end.
In his small hometown of Edinburg, Miss., he met his wife Laudean. He always claimed she was too pretty for him, but she could not resist his captivating earnestness and country boy charm.
Ted is survived by Laudean and his two children, Darrell and Karen, who knew him as a loving and encouraging father. After coaching many youth sports teams, he was approached years later by multiple men to thank him for their great experience with Coach Swope.
