President Donald Trump made it clear Sunday that he will remain heavily involved in GOP politics from his new home base of Florida, and his followers gathered at the Orlando conference made it clear they see Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as Trump’s heir apparent.
Trump rejected the idea floated in some corners that he might start a new political party, instead saying that he plans to stay involved with the Republican Party, continuing a movement that began in 2015 and “is far from being over,” Trump said.
“I will continue to fight right by your side,” Trump told the crowd gathered for the Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC.

Trump will headline the
Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando on Sunday, where he is expected to offer some of the same tones and themes of election fraud and the false claim that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him.

Trump ‘Planning for the Next Administration’: Former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows
Mark Meadows, the chief of staff of former President Donald Trump, said that they will be moving forward with the “America First” agenda and that he’s “planning for the next administration.”
On the topic of Trump’s re-appearance on the national stage this weekend at the Conservative Political Action Conference, Meadows talked to Fox’s “Hannity” on Thursday evening.
“Well you’re going to see a speech on Sunday that talks about not only the beginning, but what the future may look like, and I’m excited about it,” said the former White House Chief of Staff.
