This weekend will mark Williams’ fourth consecutive appearance in the Canton Repository Regional Final Spelling Bee.
The winner will qualify to participate in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
Williams, of Tuscarawas Central Catholic Junior High School, won the bee last year, but the COVID-19 crisis scuttled his chance to hop on the stage at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Oxon Hill, Maryland.
Ohio’s COVID-19 shutdowns in 2020 followed days after the Repository’s Regional Final Bee, which was held March 7, 2020. Gov. Mike DeWine declared a state of emergency on March 9, 2020; and Dr. Amy Acton signed an order prohibiting mass gatherings on March 12, 2020. The state’s schools were closed March 14, 2020.

Where to watch CPAC?
CPAC 2021 speeches will be live-streamed on Independent TV and on the official CPAC 2021 website under the Watch Live tab, while certain high-profile speeches are expected to be carried on a number of US networks such as Fox News and CNN, throughout the weekend.
Live streaming is also available in the US as part of a subscription to Fox Newsâ streaming service, Fox Nation, which has exclusive access to CPAC 2021.

President Donald Trump made it clear Sunday that he will remain heavily involved in GOP politics from his new home base of Florida, and his followers gathered at the Orlando conference made it clear they see Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as Trump’s heir apparent.
Trump rejected the idea floated in some corners that he might start a new political party, instead saying that he plans to stay involved with the Republican Party, continuing a movement that began in 2015 and “is far from being over,” Trump said.
“I will continue to fight right by your side,” Trump told the crowd gathered for the Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC.
