Jakes. Jakes, who is senior pastor of The Potter s House in Dallas, Texas, shared his thoughts on recovering from the pandemic during an event hosted by the Ad Council Thursday called âFinishing The Race!â to promote COVID-19 vaccine confidence among the faith community.

DALLAS - In March when Governor Greg Abbott lifted the statewide mask mandate, he touted Texas is 100% open. The governor tweeted that again on Friday, reminding local governments his new order this week bans them from requiring masks. Starting Friday, they could be fined for violating it. There has been a flurry of policy changes this week. The latest comes from the Dallas Mavericks who say they will allow near 100% capacity at their home playoff games. But they can and are choosing to require masks.
