The challenger, Elva Curl, is a former staffer of U.S. Sen. John Cornyn who has worked in several positions at City Hall.

The Dallas City Council elections are May 1; early voting is underway. All 14 council seats are contested, and three will see new faces, as incumbents have reached term limits. The other 11 incumbents face challengers. This is the 13th of 14 stories on the races, a series that kicked off with coverage of the three open seats: in Districts 11, 2 and 13. The inaugural PRINTING United Expo was held in Dallas at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center on October 23-25, 2019. Of those Gold 100 events on the Trade Show Executive list, there were more than 117,000 exhibiting companies which collectively represented almost 45M square feet of exhibitor space, with over a combined 3.5 million attendees.

About 100 unaccompanied migrant children arrived at the Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland Emergency Intake Site on Saturday, the first group to be sheltered at the facility.
The site, which was announced in March, is part of an effort from the Biden administration to move migrant children out of U.S. Customs and Border Protection facilities.

The site will provide shelter for 13 to 17-year-old boys and can hold up to 372 beds, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families.
