Gardaí have recently highlighted scams where people are pretending to be from An Garda Síochána, Social Welfare, the Attorney General’s Office, banks, delivery companies and other businesse

Man in his 20s arrested in Dublin in connection with €1 million theft from accountancy firm | JOE is the voice of Irish people at home and abroad

The arrest was made as part of an ongoing investigation relating to false claims for expenses at the company by an employee, in excess of €1,000,000. The arrested man is currently detained in Terenure Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. This is the second such arrest made as part of this investigation after another man was initially arrested in March. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
