The Athol Bird and Nature Club presents “What the Camera Sees” on Wednesday, May 12, 7 p.m., on Zoom.
Have you ever taken a picture, and when viewed on the computer screen, found some unexpected results? Several years ago, club member Ernie LeBlanc purchased a camera to carry along during bird trips and other outdoor excursions. Join him in this presentation and see what images the camera captures some surprising, some artistic, and some even in focus!

This past year marked a tumultuous time for the United Statesâ vast Asian-American population of 20 million people. Marginalized communities bore the brunt of the COVID-19 pandemic, and anti-Asian hate crimes increased by 60 percent in Boston, according to the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism at Cal State San Bernardino.

CONCORD – The Friends of the Concord Free Public Library will present an online piano recital with Tanya Bartevyan on Mothers Day, Sunday May 9th, at 3 pm EDT.
The program will include selections from Chopin Waltzes and Etudes, Schubert Impromptus, and an improvisation on an Armenian song created in the moment.
Ms. Bartevyan has concertized in well known Boston venues such as the Gardner Museum, Jordan Hall, WGBH Radio, the Concord Free Public Library, and internationally in Spain, France, Canada, Switzerland, and Turkey. Her musical studies began at age 3. She is a graduate of Harvard University and the New England Conservatory of Music.
