ITHACA, NY The body of a 19-year-old man was found in the area of Ezraâs Tunnel in the Ithaca Falls Natural Area at 10:48 a.m. on May 8. The name of the deceased is not being released at this time, as additional notifications are still being made.Â
The Ithaca Police Department is investigating the incident, but said it does not appear to be a result of a criminal act.Â
IPD was assisted at the scene by the Ithaca Fire Department, the Tompkins County Medical Examinerâs Office, Bangs Ambulance as well as Cornell University Police. Â
Anyone who may have been in the area of N. Willard Way and Ezraâs Tunnel between the hours of 1 a.m. and 10 a.m. on May 8 is asked to contact the IPD Investigations Division through any of the following means: Â

Ithaca, N.Y. Campus police at Cornell University are asking the public for help finding a missing student.
Cornell University Police said Thursday that a parent reported freshman Shawn N. West, 18, as missing. He was last seen in his residence on the Ithaca school’s north campus on the morning of April 6 and has not been seen since.
West, whose family lives in New York City, is described as 5-foot-11 and 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. There is no description of what clothing he was wearing.
