CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â A new report lists Texas as one of the worst states for children during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Save the Children reports among the challenges faced by families during the pandemic include hunger, lack of tools for remote learning and trouble making ends meet.
Some local families say they are unaware or unsure of how to access resources available to them.

In my personal opinion, the greatest coming-of-age story on Earth does not take place in a Dickens novel or a Disney movie, but rather in a white fish at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.
The fish in question, called a zoarcid, looks like a creature caught in an identity crisis, too long to be a fish but too short to be an eel, its lips permanently drooping in a sullen pout. Otherwise, the fish has no real reason to be grumpy. It lives in one of the cushiest parts of the deep sea, in the shimmering waters near a hydrothermal vent that warms the freezing seas to the temperature of a kiddie pool. It enjoys a spectacular view, at the bottom of a glittering black canyon 559 miles off the coast of Acapulco, Mexico. The site, called Nine North, is part of the East Pacific Rise, an underwater mountain range that stretches from the Gulf of California across the southeastern Pacific Ocean.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â Plenty of families were on hand to celebrate the new year at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History at noon on Thursday.
Each year the museum marks the end of the year with the dropping of the atom as part of it s Noon Year s Eve celebration, and this year, KRIS 6 Sunrise anchor Paulo Salazar was the emcee for the event.
There were science demonstrations, activities and several exhibits for families to check out and take part in.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â The Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History is celebrating New Year s Eve with COVID-19 precautions and reduced admission. Grab your party hat and get ready to celebrate the New Year with a Double Dollar Day at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History, says a press release from the museum.
The socially distanced event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m, Thursday.
Admission will only be $2 and masks will be mandatory, according to the press release.
