CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â Students and staff at Galvan Elementary School took a moment to honor the people who make their meals every day.
It was all a part of Lunch Hero Day , happening all across the Corpus Christi Independent School District.
Students paraded through the cafeteria and presented all workers with handmade cards, banners, and notes along with small gifts like cookies or candy just to say thanks to the women who make their meals daily.

The movement started in 1982, initially as a week-long celebration. However, after years of trial, it turned into a month of recognition for women s contributions and achievements. CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas There s a new effort underway in the Coastal Bend to make sure as many teachers as possible get their COVID-19 vaccinations.
On Tuesday morning, the focus was on teachers in area school districts outside the Corpus Christi Independent School District. Eligible teachers in the Phase 1-A and 1-B categories were contacted late Monday night after CCISD Superintendent Dr. Roland Hernandez reached out to the 10 area districts in Nueces County.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â When you think back to those days of participating in science fair, you will recall looking for that tri-fold board, doing some research and nervously presenting to a group of judges.
This year those nerves can be calmed as students do things virtually.
âEverything is virtual, they submit their boards virtually there are no more of the trifled boards, we even had our secondary students submit recorded presentations,â said Wendy Devoe, a secondary science specialist for the Corpus Christi Independent School District.
