CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â City officials says heavy rains are forecasted for the Coastal Bend overnight.
The city reports they are monitoring the weather conditions and they encouraged residents to safeguard family, pets, and property.
The Corpus Christi Public Works Department reports they are prepared to place barricades in areas prone to flooding including Flour Bluff, North Beach, and Las Colonias near La Volla Creek.
They added high-water rescue vehicles also will be staged to respond to any possible emergencies.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â It can be a headache running over potholes and residents say swerving out of the way can be dangerous.
The city of Corpus Christi continues to make strong efforts in fixing area streets but residents say this is a problem thatâs been happening for years.
Members of the Corpus Christi Public Works Department say daily workers are putting their best foot forward in repairing areas with clusters of potholes.
âTheyâre everywhere, I donât have any experience without potholes,â said Corpus Christi resident Drew Gerhard.
City builds sidewalk after KRIS 6 exposed unsafe road for kids

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â In October, a concerned mother talked to KRIS 6 News about a street next to her home where children would walk in the roadway to get to school, because the road had no sidewalks and the medians on both sides had overgrown grass.
Immediately after seeing our story, the city of Corpus Christi Public Works Department mowed the medians along Victoria Park Drive, between Wooldridge Road and Quebec Street, to provide paths for children to walk to and from Adkins Middle School.
