Collision Over The Weekend Claims One Life SHARE ON: Photo Pat Matthews (MyCaribooNow.com staff) On Sunday (February 28, 2021) morning at 4, Williams Lake RCMP and Cariboo Chilcotin Traffic Services were called to the scene of a collision on Highway 97 at Omeretto Road, south of 150 Mile House. Corporal Madonna Saunderson said once on scene, investigators discovered a Chev Cruz and a Dodge pickup had collided. Police say the driver of the Chev Cruz, an 81-year-old man, had died at the scene while the driver of the pickup was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries. The highway was closed for a period of time and Saunderson said the investigation is ongoing and while causal factors are yet to be determined, police do not believe alcohol is involved.

Two were in the PG area and the other was in Fort St James. A 29-year old man passed away following a crash on Foothills Boulevard between Chief Lake Road and Austin Road. “At 6:30 pm on January 14th, police received a report of a single-vehicle incident,” explained North District RCMP Corporal Madonna Saunderson, “There were two people in the vehicle and the passenger was pronounced dead on the scene.”

Williams Lake RCMP Looking for Witnesses To An Early Morning Attempted Robbery SHARE ON: Williams Lake RCMP is investigating an attempted armed robbery that happened earlier this morning. Corporal Madonna Saunderson said Police were called to the Scotia Bank ATM this morning at 8:20 for a report of an attempted robbery. Saunderson said the victim was using the ATM when two men, who were already inside, demanded cash from the victim, then bear sprayed the man and fled on foot without getting any money. It is believed there was a third outside. Saunderson said since the onset of the investigation, one suspect has been identified, and efforts continue to identify the remaining suspects.

Corporal Madonna Saunderson said when police arrived they found a 30-year-old man suffering from an apparent stab wound. “The victim was immediately rushed to hospital by police and his injuries are serious but not believed to be life-threatening.” Saunderson said, “A 30-year-old woman was arrested shortly after and remains in police custody.
