Waynesboro police officer resigns, charged with sexual assault of minor

On Dec. 10, Sublett was interviewed at the PSP Chambersburg station. He confirmed he met the victim while responding to a medical emergency. Sublett identified himself as a role-model figure for the victim and said he would check up on her at the victim s mother s request, according to court documents. He denied ever contacting the victim through text messages or giving her a cell phone. He immediately terminated the interview when the nature of the allegation was discussed, police said.  Sublett was placed on administrative leave by the chief of the Waynesboro Police Department on the night of Dec. 10. He resigned on Jan. 5.

Greencastle man charged in sexual abuse, child porn case

Chambersburg Public Opinion A Greencastle man is facing 46 felony charges after police say they found evidence of child pornography on his computer. In October 2018, an investigation was launched by Homeland Security Investigations in Pittsburgh regarding a downloadable file suspected to contain child pornography. Once an IP address was obtained, the case was transferred to the Harrisburg-York branch for further investigation. The video depicted a 10- to 12-year-old female engaged in sexual acts. A subpoena was served to Comcast on Nov. 27, 2018, to locate the home address of the suspected user. On Jan. 25, 2019, a search warrant was executed on a home on Buchanan Trail East in Shady Grove, according to court documents.

State Police seek information in hit and run in Quincy Township

Troopers at the scene discovered numerous vehicle parts left behind by the striking vehicle. The vehicle is believed to be a gray in color 2009-2013 GMC 1500 Sierra SLT or 2009-2013 GMC 1500 Sierra Denali. Damage to the striking vehicle occurred on the left side or driver s side of the vehicle. The damage consists of a broken headlight lens and yellow turn signal. The vehicle will also be missing the drivers side mirror assembly. Waynesboro YMCA swim coach sexually assaulted a minor, police say

The YMCA released an official statement on the matter: We were saddened to learn of a criminal complaint against Emily Miller, a former employee of the Waynesboro Area YMCA, alleging abuse of a minor,  Executive Director Amanda Gietka said. Upon learning of this criminal complaint, the Y was fully supportive and compliant with the recommendations of local authorities. At the Waynesboro Area YMCA, the safety and wellbeing of all children in our community is a top priority. We conduct thorough screenings and regular trainings for all Y employees. While these alleged incidents did not occur at the Y, we remain focused and diligent on the safety of our members.

Chambersburg s Community Uniting delivers meals to frontline workers
