Garza And Hawkeyes Get Revenge Against Gophers

Jordan Bohannon went wild for Iowa. The senior guard had 19 points, a career high 14 assists, a career high 7 rebounds, and no turnovers on the afternoon. Since that stinker of a game on Christmas day, Bohannon is averaging 18.5 points and has made 19 of his 30 three point shots, according to The Gazette. A majority of those assists went to Luka Garza.
The nation s leading scorer had 33 points on Sunday, many on Bohannon assists while in transition. Garza said that made it harder for the Gophers to deploy their double teams. It was also a big night for

The Gazette reports that 5th ranked Iowa erased an early 19-9 deficit and went on to route Maryland 89-67. There were great performances all over the Iowa stat sheet. Freshman Keegan Murray had his second straight 14 point game including three dunks that brought his teammates off the bench. The Iowa women s basketball team added to the nation s second-longest home winning streak Wednesday night with a 92-79 win over Minnesota at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The home win streak now stands at 42 games. Iowa will face a stiff challenge on their home court next week.
Iowa was led in scoring Wednesday night by a familiar face, who Iowa fans will finally get to see on live television this weekend. Freshman phenom Caitlan Clark had the third double-double of her very young Iowa career. Clark (#22 above), a guard, poured in 37 points and also pulled down 11 rebounds, both team highs last night.
Iowa s only other scorer in double figures Wednesday night was junior center Monika Czinano who scored 19 points while grabbing 9 rebounds.
