The Danish Energy Agency has prequalified a total of six consortia and companies to participate in the tender for Denmark s largest offshore wind farm to date: Thor Offshore Wind Farm with a capacity of minimum 800-1000 MW.
There will be competition to build Denmark s largest offshore wind farm to date, which will be located in the North Sea off the coast at Thorsminde. By 1 December 2020, the Danish Energy Agency received a total of six applications from a broad field of consortia and companies wishing to bid for the task of building the Thor Offshore Wind Farm. All six consortia and companies meet the criteria for financial and technical capacity, and the Agency has prequalified all six of them.

The Danish Energy Agency has pre-qualified a total of six consortia and companies to participate in the tender for the Thor offshore wind farm.
The applicants include Ørsted, Vattenfall, a consortium of Total and Iberdrola, as well as Thor Wind Farm I/S, owned by RWE Wind Holding A/S and RWE Offshore Wind A/S.
Other pre-qualified applicants are a joint venture of SSE Renewables Offshore Windfarm Holdings Limited and Thor OFW K/S, which is owned by Copenhagen Infrastructure IV Thor OFW ApS and Andel Holding A/S; and Swan Wind P/S, which is a joint venture between Eneco Wind B.V. and European Energy A/S.

The six entities had submitted their applications by 1 December 2020 for the project, which will be located in the North Sea off the coast at Thorsminde and will be Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm when built.
The selected applicants are Orsted, Vattenfall, SSE Renewables and Thor OFW K/S (owned by Copenhagen Infrastructure 4 Thor OFW ApS and Andel Holding), Swan Wind (owned by Eneco Wind and European Energy), Thor Wind Farm (owned by RWE Wind Holding and RWE Offshore Wind) and a Total Renewables and Iberdrola Renovables joint venture.
