As we celebrate all of the unique achievements of women around the world this International Women s Day, we wanted to make sure to take the time to introduce you to 14 women who were born right here in the Southern Tier and who most certainly have left their mark on the world.

I need to say this, I can t hold it in anymore. I love our community. I love that when the going gets rough our community steps up and sticks out a hand. Say what you will, but you know that s the truth because just like me, you ve witnessed it time and time again.

Who even could have thought that we d find ourselves swimming against the waves of a pandemic for going on a year and yet, here we are. Our local businesses have been doing all that they can to keep from drowning and in some ways, our community has acted like one of those bright orange lifesaver rings, tossing our business at locally owned establishments in an attempt to keep them afloat.
You know what the world needs? Yeah, you do. As a matter of fact, I m sure that you could think of a whole bunch of colorful words to describe what the world needs, but today we re going to focus on just one word:
lightheartedness.

Listen, with the amount of ugly in the world today and the amount of depression and awful news and hopeless scenarios, the world needs a bit of lighthearted relief. One Endwell family has attempted to bring a smile to those driving by their home on Country Club Road but their attempt to entice laughter in our community has been met with negativity from someone who only goes by the name Citizen.
