On February 10, 2021, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives received a complaint in reference to Ronald J. Dugas, Jr., 44, Lake Charles in reference to contractor fraud. During the investigation the victim stated in January he hired Dugas to perform construction at his residence and had paid Dugas over $4,000 in full for materials and labor. The victim further stated numerous weeks went by with no work being completed at the home. After a month and a half, Dugas performed approximately five hours of work then failed to return to complete the job. It was also learned Dugas did not deliver all the victim’s materials, which he had paid for.

During the investigation the victim, who had previously been reported missing through LCPD, allegedly told detectives she had run away from home and was walking down the street when a man she did not know picked her up. That man was later identified as 35-year-old Tony L. Mouton.

(KPLC) - A Lake Charles man has been arrested following an accusation that he raped a girl under 17 years old, according to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office. Spokeswoman Kayla Vincent says the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint regarding the incident on April 13, 2021. During their investigation deputies say discovered the victim had previously been reported missing to the Lake Charles Police Department. The victim told detectives that she had run away from home and was walking down the street when a man she didn’t know picked her up.

Larry Fitzgerald, 59, is accused of taking $60,000 from a Hurricane Laura/Delta victim and never fixing her house. Fitzgerald also didn t have a contractor s license in Louisiana when he was hired to do the work; that is required for him to do business here, deputies allege. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives booked Fitzgerald, of Panama City Beach, with two counts residential contractor fraud. During the investigation the victim told detectives she signed a contract with Fitzgerald in September 2020, at which time she paid him over $60,000 in order for him to repair damages to her home sustained during Hurricanes Laura and Delta. The victim stated Fitzgerald advised her she would be able to move back in her home in January, but the repairs have yet to be completed.
