Iowa High School Student Charged with Making Threats
It s not a subject that we have had to discuss that much during this pandemic fall session of school. That subject is school violence. There are a couple of obvious reasons why the subject hasn t been in the headlines but yesterday in Calcasieu Parish the dark specter of gun violence in our schools once again made an appearance.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff s Deputy who serves as a resource officer for Iowa High School was notified shortly after lunch of a potential problem at the school. According to reports law enforcement agents were informed of a student making threats and allegations about a shooting at the school. According to the information gleaned by detectives, the student would be trigger happy and kill as many students as he could.
