Lenoir Man Arrested On Charges Of Fleeing From Police, False Imprisonment

23-year-old Marcus Allen Whisnant of Bee Mountain Ridge Road in Lenoir was arrested Sunday (May 23) by Caldwell County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle and failure to appear on a felony. In addition, Whisnant is charged with two counts of misdemeanor assault on a female and single misdeemeanor counts of false imprisonment and interfere with emergency communication.
Whisnant was placed in the Caldwell County Detention Center under no bond and $185,000 secured bond. A Superior Court appearance is scheduled for June 21.

33-year-old Gary Daniel Stallings II of Montclair Avenue in Granite Falls was arrested by Caldwell County Sheriff’s Officers this morning (May 20) on charges of assault with a deadly weapon on a government official, discharging a weapon into a occupied dwelling, and two counts of fleeing to elude arrest.
He was arrested after Deputies responded to a report of someone shooting into a residence on Spring Lake Mobile Home Park Drive in Sawmills. The caller said Stallings drove past his residence in a silver Honda Ridgeline and fired a gun at his home.

62-year-old Larry Gene Hibbs of of S.E. Arrowood Street in Lenoir was arrested by Lenoir Police yesterday (May 18) on felony counts of trafficking in methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell or deliver a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted by felon, conspiracy to traffick in meth, trafficking in opiates or heroin, and possession of a weapon of mass destruction. Hibbs was also charged with felony counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver heroin, cocaine, and schedule IV controlled substances.
