Starting with their meetings the way the chairman [Ambrose Rachier] handles them is very professional. You can feel where he wants the club to be, what he wants to achieve with the team. Very different from what was happening at my club Posta Rangers. Even if things might not be the way they should, I can say there is every reason to be optimistic.

“An additional bonus of Ksh1000 and Ksh2000 for scoring a goal in the first or last five minutes of either half, Ksh6000 for a man of the match among other packages aside from our salaries. And it would be paid on time because we had a solid sponsorship with Britam.
Omondi has been unable to break into the senior team especially with competition from goalkeepers who are more experienced than him. Currently, Boniface Oluoch and Gad Mathews have been used regularly while Samuel Njau has had intermittent appearances.
The presence of the three goalkeepers means Omondi has been relegated further down in the pecking order. Last season, the presence of David Mapigano also meant the Tanzanian and Oluoch were the most preferred goalkeepers at the expense of the youngster.
“Competition is very high and this is because I am surrounded by experienced goalkeepers,” he added. “And that motivates me to work harder. It’s also good for the team as it makes every player offer his best to get a chance to play.
“I Haven’t been able to represent the nation at any level nevertheless it remains my main target to achieve.
“Playing for the country comes with advantages, it builds on one’s curriculum vitae and positions one to opportunities out of the country. I hope to someday I will don the Harambee Stars colours and demonstrate what I am capable of doing.”
Kilume also talked about his life in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League and how he felt after making his much-awaited debut.
“Having signed for the team I knew so clearly it wasn’t going to be an easy walk in the path to break into the first team,” he added.
To make it worse, when I reached, they had already finished their trials and signed the players they wanted. It made me feel bad considering I had borrowed the boots for trials. But there was another chance at Kakamega Homeboyz who had been relegated. We had more than 100 players looking for that chance; Kenyans, Ugandans, Nigerians, and others from Burundi. It was 10 minutes, but I did not even have a chance to show my potential because my team was strong and we camped in the opponent s half. You can imagine the disappointment when I was let go.
